"Many sweat hard at reconciling James with Paul. . . but unsuccessfully. 'Faith [alone] justifies' [Paul, in Romans 3:28] stands in flat contradiction to 'faith [alone] does not justify' [James 2:24]. If anyone can harmonize these sayings, I'll put my doctor's cap on him and let him call me a fool."

Haha, yeah. Did you know Luther put James, and I think Jude & Revelation, in a second section after all the rest of the NT books? It's good to recognize these guys' faults along with their triumphs.
I knew about James, "the straw epistle," but I did not know about Jude and Revelation. Pretty funny.
bw,
I just attended a SG men's conference that was amazing. One of the speakers was Rick Gamache, senior pastor of SC church in Minneapolis, MN (yes... he's friends with Piper. He used to be the theological consultant (or something like that) for DGM and fills in for Piper sometimes when he's on a leave.) His message was on Justification and, to be honest, it is the best sermon on justification that I have ever heard and possibly the best sermon in general that I have ever heard. No joke. The sermon should be available for download at SG's website by Wednesday. It's a great response to NTWright and I thought it might be helpful here. peace.
Sounds good Chance. Post the audio on your blog when it comes available. I have been steeped in justification issues this semester. Good stuff, but not enough sleep.
