I am very excited about a current project seeking to define New Covenant Theology. It seems to me that what is lacking in the NCT movement is a balanced, clear, concise treatment of the essentials of NCT. There is a growing amount of theological literature available that I consider NCT, whether or not they use the label (see this book list).
I am currently about half way finished writing a "layman's guide" to NCT. I am seeking to articulate the core of what NCT is about in an accessible way. It has 7 chapters unpacking 7 essential points. Here they are:
Chapter 1 – One
Plan of God Centered in Jesus Christ
Chapter 2 – The Old
Testament Should be Interpreted in Light of the New Testament
Chapter 3 – The
Old Covenant was Temporary by Divine Design
Chapter 4 – The
Law is a Unit
Chapter 5 – Christians
are Not Under the Law of Moses, but the ‘Law’ of Christ
Chapter 6 – All
Members of the New Covenant Community Have the Holy Spirit
Chapter 7 – The
Church is the Eschatological Israel
I hope to be finished by May 2012 and would love your prayers!

Hi Blake,
OK I'll pray for you tonight.
You are correct that NCT suffers from lack of a popular definition. I like your 7 essential points. (They are almost identical to mine.)
NCT is a hermeneutic. NCT is a theological system. NCT is a lifestyle. And NCT needs to be a Biblical theology.
Both CT and Disp. attempted to define Biblical Theologies from Gen. - Rev. But they based their outlines of redemptive history on alleged implicit assumptions (CoR, CoW, CoG, or 7 Dispensations) instead of explicit, Biblical statements.
So for NCT to counter CT and Disp., and more importantly explain how the whole Bible fits together, I think it's important to define a Biblical theology outline.
Hi Blake,
This is an excellent idea. As I live in South Africa, and I only know of 3 NCTers in SA, I depend on NCT literature and podcasts.
If you need anyone to read through your manuscript at varying stages to check on references and/or ideas. Whatever really. I am willing to help if you need it.
Blessings,
William
Thanks for the comments guys!
Greg, you should mail me a copy of your book! ;)
William, I may take you up on that offer in a few months,

P.S. I have your book, but haven't read it yet.
Wow, Greg I am glad what we consider the "essentials" are almost identical! That is confirming and encouraging. Thanks for sharing.
Exciting TOC. Would like to pre-order that book. Please, make sure to also publish a mobile (Kindle) version.
Thanks Thorsten. It won't be available for pre-order for a while. I will speak to the publisher about E-Reader options and will write a blog post if available in that format. Blessings in Christ!
